Kalkan Holiday Checklist

Here at The Turquoise Collection,  we work hard to provide our guests with the highest levels of service, both pre-departure and in resort to enable you to have an enjoyable and safe break.

Below we have put together a checklist for you to ensure that you and your family are fully prepared for your holiday in Kalkan:

1.) Tourist Visas

Tourists from the UK can buy a visa easily at their airport of arrival. Each traveller will need to pay £10 and the queue to buy this will be found just before passport control. Guests should also be aware that the visa is to be purchased prior to joining the queue at passport control at Dalaman.  Once the visa has been purchased, then the passport control queue can be joined. The visa is valid for three months and enables multiple entries to Turkey during this period.

Citizens holding passports of countries: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Holland, Italy, Malta, Portugal, Spain, USA can also obtain 3 month visas from the Turkish border gates (charges vary with each country).

Please note that you need to pay this money for each person travelling with you – children included – regardless of whether they are on your passport or not.

France, Germany, Sweden, Holland, New Zealand and others do not require a visa just a valid passport.

Please ensure your passport is valid for the period of travel and for six months after your return.

It is recommended that you check the latest visa and passport requirements with your embassy before planning a trip to Turkey. These rules are subject to changes very often.

2.) Travel Insurance

Please make sure that all members of your party are fully insured for your holiday in Turkey. If you are going to be taking part in water sports or outdoor activities, make sure that your policy covers this.

3.) Heath Care

If any prescription medication is being taken abroad, make sure you bring documentation for the medication and sufficient supplies.

As Turkey is not part of the EU private healthcover is necessary. Please ensure all members of your party have adequate travel insurance to cover any medical costs.

4.) Travel Documents

Take photocopies of your passport and other important documents and keep these separate from the originals when you travel, to ensure that if your documents are lost or stolen, that you have adequate copies at hand. You can upload copies of your travel documents, including: passports, driving licences, visas, insurance details, British consulate details and itineraries onto MyOnlineSafe.

If you plan to drive abroad, make sure that your licence is current and valid, and that you are aware the driving laws which apply. You will need to carry your passport and drivers' licence along with the vehicle documentation and licence (normally found in the glove compartment or drivers visor). The Jandarma (Traffic Police) stop cars as a matter of routine and if you are stopped, you will be expected to produce this documentation.
