Kalkan Weather & Climate
As a guide most people find the most comfortable times to visit are in early Spring/Summer and late Summer/Autumn. Temperatures rise from around 25°C in early April, to the low 30's in late June. July and August are the hottest months with average temperatures around the high 30's, occasionally rising to over 40°C.
In early September the temperature begins to fall from the low 30's, to the mid 20's in late October.
In the low season months of November, December, March and April the weather is ideal for those looking for more active holidays walking and sightseeing or for the young and elderly. The sea remains warm into November and December and rarely drops below 16°C allowing swimmers a 9 month bathing season, although pool temperatures can be chilly at this time of year. These months generally offer a good chance of some winter sunshine, temperatures are often a comfortable 15°C to 19°C during the day time falling to around 6°C to 7°C at night, although the weather can not be guaranteed.
Kalkan has a typical Mediterranean climate enjoying long hot summers and short mild winters. Kalkan has its own micro climate created by its proximity to the sea and mountains and you will often find the temperature is higher than that shown in charts because the figures showing the air temperature are taken in the shade and in direct sunlight it will feel a lot hotter (sometimes as much as 15°C) as the suns rays also emit infrared radiation.
Kalkan does not generally suffer from high humidity except for short periods either in July or August when humidity levels can reach around 60%.
