Indulge in a day at the spa

Holidays are about leaving your cares behind, some indulgence, of course, new experiences and the opportunity to unwind and relax completely. Kalkan offers all sorts of opportunities to do just that, and we thought that to share our experience, and that of our guests, about the very best ways to "chill out", would be useful.

1) Long lazy lunches

Tantalising lunch menus offer excellent value, and Kalkan's harbour side restaurants have comfortable sofas in shady spots to enjoy a pre-lunch drink, from where you can watch the world go by with the Turkish Gulets and yachts in the harbour as your backdrop. Move to your table for lunch and enjoy attentive service and delicious food.

2) Kalkan beach in the early evening

Find a sunbed on Kalkan beach, bring it close to the water, and enjoy the last rays of sun, and incredible light as you watch all the yachts and Turkish Gulets return into the harbour, which is next to the                                                                                                               beach. You may even want to take a bottle of wine with you!

3) A lazy day at sea

Spend the day on board a Turkish Gulet  visiting the local coves, beaches and islands. An opportunity to snorkel, swim, dive, cover yourself in rejuvenating mud used in Kalkan spa's, or just find one of the sunbathing mattresses on deck, and only leave it for lunch. Whether you arrange a private charter for you and your guests or join one of the many trips that leave from Kalkan harbour, this is utter relaxation, and a highlight for many of our guests.

4) Spend the day at a beach club

There are seven beach clubs in Kalkan, many reached with a small boat transfer service (free) from Kalkan harbour. Multi-level wooden platforms sit over the water, and a waiter service for lunch and drinks is available along with comfortable sunbeds or mattresses, shady cabanas with wireless internet access, and a welcoming sea breeze.

5) Stay in for a late night swim and a BBQ

Make sure your white wine is chilled, and sample some Kofte, kebabs and lamb from the local butcher chargrilled on your BBQ. As it gets dark, turn on the swimming pool lights for a night time swim, and relax on a sunbed in the warm night air.

6) Spa treatments

Indulge in your favourite spa treatment. Kalkan has a number of excellent spas. We particularly recommend the Likya Residence and Spa hotel. The hotel offers a range of facial and body treatments and you can also experience a traditional Turkish bath. You could follow it with a swim in any one of their 3 pools.
