The House Hotel Cappadocia
Cave hotel in central Cappadocia combines contemporary comfort with original features
The House Hotel Cappadocia is nested in a network of ancient caves and stone houses located in the town of Ortahisar in central Cappadocia. Set off the town's main square, it overlooks the surrounding 'fairy chimneys' and the 'hisar' - which is an enormous rock formation from where the town gets its name.
Guests are encouraged to engage with and become part of the community, with its coffeehouses, barbershops and museum of local history. Designed by architect Şekibe Aslan, the hotel interior retains original touches such as fireplaces, storage alcoves and even a buried wine press and fermentation vat. Every room is unique, with its design and interior inspired by its physical properties. Many rooms feature frescoes and crown mouldings evoking Cappadocia's heritage.
The House Hotel Cappadocia has one restaurant with indoor seating and a large terrace. A 350 sqm spa offers a Turkish Hamam, sauna, steam rooms and 4 treatment rooms. The spa features Lokum Istanbul 'Hamam Rituals' bath products exclusively made for The House Hotels. The lofty underground chapel hosts weddings, concerts and workshops.
Located near Göreme and Ürgüp, Ortahisar is comparatively untouched by tourism. Off the beaten track yet close to the main sights, the hotel offers both convenience and privacy as you explore this iconic landscape's past and present.
