The The Bank Hotel Istanbul is located in the up-and-coming neighbourhood of Karaköy on Bankalar Caddesi; a convenient springboard for exploring the districts of Beyoğlu, Sultanahmet and the Galata Port.
Restored by the award-winning Turkish architect Han Tümertekin, the building of The Bank Hotel Istanbul retains original features. The luxurious, modern interiors were designed by Sinan Kafadar, who was inspired by its imposing bank vaults - which also brought around the hotel's name. The room interiors are contemporary with a twist of timeless elegance, wealth and luxury. An in-house art curator is on hand to organise events and exhibitions throughout the hotel, and there is also a collection of precious books related to art, culture and music.
The hotel is adjacent to the former Imperial Ottoman Bank, now the SALT Galata arts and cultural centre. Leading Turkish galleries such as Elipsis, Galeri Mana, artSümer and Istanbul'74 are also in the neighbourhood. Nearby eateries include hip Bej Café, Karabatak, Naif, Lokanta Maya, and Unter, serving delicious coffee and food. There are also the traditional Namlı Gurme and Karaköy Lokantası for Turkish delicatessen food and Güllüoğlu for baklava. The Spice Market and Galata Tower are close-by sightseeing destinations, while the Jewish Museum is right behind the hotel.
The Bank Hotel Istanbul is also conveniently just steps away from the Karaköy tram station which is three stops from the Old City and Galata Port. With its location overlooking the Golden Horn, the Galata Bridge is a few seconds away.
