We had a lovely stay at 5 Columns.

Very stlylish Riad in the center of Essaouira with plenty of outdoor space. Host provided fabulous recommendations on best places to eat, shop, local artisans, etc. Lisa was VERY responsive to all of our needs, and Fatima, the housekeeper is an excellent chef!

We really loved our stay at 5 Columns. It's a gorgeous space and decorated with a funky/fun design sense that I really appreciated. Winter guests should know that it definitely gets cool at night, but every room has a heater, and for us that wasn't an issue. The house design, with the vast inner courtyard that typifies a riad, does funnel sound up and around in sort of echo-like fashion. But tbh I liked that: the small sacrifice in terms of privacy is more than made up by the fun communal sense of a shared space with friends/family. The host was very responsive and friendly. And Fatima (the manager/chef) is very sweet (and makes delicious breakfasts). Highly recommended.

Property is wonderfully furnished throughout. Location is perfect for exploring and very central. Fatima and Rachid were super helpful. Will be back!

The house host organised our airport transfer from Marrakesh to Essaouira (cheaper than general internet quoted private transfer prices). The journey is straightforward with potential breaks enroute if required. Rachid the in-situ property manager met us at the drop off point outside the Medina and accompanied us to the Riad. He ensured we could get our bearings and which routes to get around the Medina. We had ordered dinner for our arrival and Fatima the house keeper was there with a delicious dinner and beautifully laid table. It was our best meal during our stay. There are 4 double rooms to choose from, all with a slightly different feel. The outside roof top is sheltered from the wind and a lovely space to sunbathe or sit in the shade. All mod cons provided and everything is to the highest quality. There were board games books and puzzles available (we loved LINKEE). There is a pair of nesting House Buntings who come to roost every evening in the eves beside the open central courtyard, which we loved. Fatima came each morning and cleaned up our dishes from breakfast. The location is great since it is away from the hustle and bustle of the main Souk but still very easy to reach, and is next to one of the citadel gates to be able to access the beach and other areas. We are a family of 4 so everyone got their own room and it felt very spacious. Lots of spots to 'chill' although WIFI signal only strong by receiver on the first floor.

We had the most amazing stay for New Year at the riad. The place was spotless and the added bonus of Fatima coming in daily was brilliant. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept so well, even during the call to prayer! Well equipped kitchen and lots of hot water.

Beautiful house with nice outdoor areas and really comfy beds! Great showers with lots of hot water and good pressure. In a great location and the house manager meets you on arrival and gives you a quick and very helpful orientation to the medina. The host is quick to answer any questions and recomends some great places to eat. Recommend.

We spend a week in 5 Columns Riad. It's a amazing riad with 4 rooms , 4 bedrooms with toilet and a separate toilet . The street is quiet and very close to the Medina Center . We asked for the breakfast ( very typical Morocco ) and it was very good . Perfect place to be if you want to visit Essaouira

5 Columns was a jewel in Essaouira's crown! A wonderful warm welcome and dinner from Fatima really started our trip off to a brilliant start. Essaouira offers wonderful water sports, shopping, gorgeous hammam spas, sunset bars and the sounds of beautiful prayers. One week was not enough! Lisa the host is brilliant at responding and really letting you know about all the superb places to visit and the hidden gems. My friends and I had fab lunches on the beach, we bought art, candles, beautiful vases and spices! A trip to remember - I can't wait to go back! 10/10

Came to Essaouira on a whim and almost entirely because of the pictures of 5 Columns. The house is every bit as beautiful as it seems in pictures - I couldn't stop taking picture of the furniture and textiles - but it was Lisa's hosting that truly made the trip so exceptional. She has a fantastic list of things to do and she was unbelievably responsive to every single message I sent. Staying at Lisa's home made this trip so easy and her insightful, friendly advice made it easy to make the most of Essaouira. Hugely grateful to her for making this trip really special.

Our second visit to 5 Columns and certainly not our last. It's a beautifully furnished, spacious house within the walls of Essaouira's vibrant and authentic medina. 5 columns has two rooftop terraces and a bar area where you can chill and relax. Really like that you have shops, a working market and numerous restaurants and cafes all within 5 minutes walk of the house. And the beautiful beach is only 10 minutes walk away. Rachid and Fatima are always at hand to assist and Lisa gave us lots of information and tips about the house and Essaouira in general. Can't wait to go back!

As soon as we arrived and entered 5 Columns it was just an attack on the creative senses. A pure WOW moment on entering the Riad. Beautifully interior designed amd impossible to choose which room to sleep in as each one has its own personal beauty from the artwork and layout in each room so much attention to detail. A relaxing vibe and the table in the kitchen really is a place to talk your hearts out. "the table of truth" location wise it's so close to everything a shopping paradise and Lisa the host prepared us well with all the best places to eat and visit. It was a short stay of 4 nights and was so sad to leave as a piece of my heart is still left there to pick up upon my return. I left wanting more and certainly will be back. Amazing value and a space to die for. The food made for us on arrival by the lovely house keeper was also wonderful. I recommend this place 150% book you will not regret it.

We had a super holiday with friends in Essaouira. And that is definitely thanks to the wonderful accommodation, Lisa's good care and the incredibly sweet Fatima. The riad is really amazing, beautifully decorated and very well located. I really fell in love with the atmosphere and super friendly people in Essaouira. Just opening the front door in the morning and soaking up the vibe of the crack of dawn made us really happy. We actually still miss it...so we will definitely come back! Once again super thank you!
