Croatia holidays: Trogir Riviera
Discover the Trogir Riviera on Croatia's coast
The Trogir Riviera is a wonderfully convenient choice for Croatia villa holidays, with a string of coastal towns and quieter bays gathered around the historic town of Trogir. Nearby places such as Marina, Seget Donji, Seget Vranjica and Vinišće offer a relaxed Adriatic feel, with olive groves, vineyards, pebble beaches and calm inlets that suit easy days by the sea.
At the heart of the region is Trogir itself, founded by Greek settlers in the 3rd century BCE and known today for its beautifully preserved old town. With its mix of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque architecture, the historic centre feels like an open-air museum, yet remains lively and welcoming. In 1997, the old town was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the great advantages of Trogir Riviera holidays is how straightforward the journey is. Split Airport is around a 10-minute drive away, and Trogir's old town sits on a small island between the mainland and the Island of Čiovo, connected by road bridges. It makes an ideal base for exploring the coast, while still enjoying a strong sense of place.
Wander through the old town gates, pause in the main square for a coffee, and take in the cathedral, palaces and waterfront promenades. For panoramic views, climb the bell tower of St Lawrence Cathedral and look out across the rooftops, harbour and surrounding islands.
